Evergon. Theatres of the Intimate

Evergon. Theatres of the Intimate is taking up residence at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) this fall and winter. This retrospective of Evergon, one of Canada’s foremost photographers, brings together more than 200 pieces for the first time to celebrate the prolific career of this bold artist. Dare to enter the carnal burlesque universe of Evergon’s work. For more than 50 years, the artist has combined techniques to develop a strikingly unique baroque aesthetic. He employs a humorous take on genres such as portraits, landscapes, and nudes to produce always moving and occasionally irreverent imagery. Warning: you may not find some images shocking. Until April 23, 2023.
