After two years of pandemic, evening shows of all kinds are finally back on the bill, for a lively time on Île d'Orléans. The Espace Félix-Leclerc performance hall will present 7 well-known Quebec artists throughout the summer. The New Theatre of île d'Orléans is back in force with summer theatre as we like it with its comedy SITCOM! Chamber Music in Sainte-Pétronille presents a series of 6 classical music concerts in the village church. Double your pleasure by having dinner in one of the restaurants with a terrace on Île d’Orléans before the show. You will see that the sunsets are magnificent!
More than just a watercourse, the St. Lawrence River is a source of wonder. With the new mobile application ‘’Littoral - The Constellations of Île d’Orléans’’ (available starting at the end of June), immerse yourself in Ile d'Orléans by following the walking tours along the coast during which residents of the island will share with you, through audio testimonies, their relationship with insularity and the river. If the experience of an excursion on the river appeals to you, Croisières Orléans offers guided zodiac outings around the Island.
Three well-known producers from Île d'Orléans have successfully embarked on the production of spirits based on what grows on their land, from the field to the still. Cassis Monna & Filles recently unveiled its Blackcurrant Vodka, the Du Capitaine - Farm, Vinegar and Distillery produces a Blackcurrant Eau de vie and the Ste-Pétronille Vineyard is already renowned for its Grape Eau de vie. These new products are added to the already extensive range of wines, ciders, beers and other spirits made on Île d'Orléans.
With more than a hundred tourist attractions and services, Île d’Orléans can count on a dynamic business community. The Domaine Sainte-Famille and Domaine Steinbach cider factories as well as Resto de la Plage are now owned by young families. The Monna sisters (Cassis Monna & Filles) have just acquired La Boulange and renamed it La Midinette, turning it into a fancy bakery and refreshment bar. Boulangerie Blouin acquired Buffet Maison, which offers lunch boxes and other cooked meals. And these are just a few examples of the projects that abound in the island's tourism businesses. New products taste good on Île d’Orléans!
