Start your adventure at the Cité de l’or by taking a tour 91 metres underground like a real miner, then immerse yourself in the way of life of the families of yesteryear at the old mining camp of Bourlamaque. End your experience with exhibits on geology and mining projects in the region and observe minerals from around the world at the Malartic Mineralogical Museum.
The story that will unfold as you follow the wooden trail began nearly 40 years ago. It is the story of the Pageau family and their incredible relationship with animals. Refuge Pageau gives shelter to injured, sick or orphaned wildlife, provides them with care and when possible, returns them to the wild. You will see moose, wolves, white-tail deer, racoons, prey birds and many other animals making short or long stays at the Refuge.
